Authors, if you're planning to run a Kindle Countdown promotion, do not expect a dramatic increase in visibility on Amazon without further promotion. There are already thousands of Countdown deals running. To stand out from the crowd, you will need to find other ways to inform readers that your book is on promotion.

Bargain Book Sites

Here are some sites that appear to list price drop promotions and their requirements.

Indie Book Bargains accept books priced up to £2.99. Those with good reviews will be prioritised. There's an option to check if your offer is a countdown deal. Please follow the instructions carefully.

flurriesofwords UK offer some cheap paid promotions for bargain books. Unfortunately the price guide on their UK page appears to be in US dollars.

hotukdeals.com allows you to list discount books.

bookbargainsuk.com offers paid promotional opportunities. The site appears to be under development.

dailycheapreads.co.uk advertises bargain books, but we can't work out how to submit.

ereadernewstoday.com accept books priced at 99c or lower. Your book will need to have at least 10 reviews and at least a 4 star rating.

Pixel of Ink accept submissions for books priced at 99c or lower. It appears to be free to submit.

.efictionfinds.com are currently accepting submissions for books priced at $2.99 and under. You will need a minimum of 10 reviews, with an average of 4.0 rating to qualify and they neither accept sex nor bad language.

readcheaply.com accept books priced up to $2.99 that are on time limited promotions. They require you to promote them before they will promote you.

feedyourreader.com lists books up to $3.99, except on Sundays.

bargainebookhunter.com offers guaranteed listings of 99c books for $10 and a similar service for books priced up to $5, also costing $10. They don't accept short stories and books must have a rating of at least 4 stars.

theereadercafe.com appear to list 99c books in exchange for a like on Facebook. They also offer paid promotional opportunities.

Bookbub are currently one of the leading forces in promoting price drop promotions. However, this is reflected in the price. Promotions cost between $60 (£37) and $1,250 (£777) depending on your price and genre.

worldliterarycafe.com run '99c Fridays'. It costs $20 to participate.

indiesunlimited.comrun 'Thrifty Thursdays' for 99c books. It appears to be free to submit.

addictedtoebooks.com accept free submissions of books costing up to $5.99. You need to have at least five .com reviews to qualify.

Kindle Nation Daily have a range of pay-for services for authors.

digitalbooktoday.com sells a variety of services which appear to apply to books on Countdown.

indiebookpromo.com has a submission form for 'Cheap Reads' (books up to $2.99) but I can't work out whether you have to pay for the listing without submitting the form.
