Why do we need (yet) another eBook forum?

Why do we need (yet) another eBook forum?

BookHippo.uk now supports discussions, with the ability to comment on books, authors and drabbles, plus a homepage that collates all of the threads. See bookhippo.uk/forum/

There are already two fantastic forums out there for UK Kindle lovers - Kindle Users Forum (KUF) and UK Amazon Kindle Forum (UKAKF). These are great places where you can discuss all aspects of books and writing. Both well-moderated, they are friendly places to hang out.

So why do we need another forum?

Original content will strengthen an important site that benefits authors and readers - BookHippo.uk.

BookHippo.uk delivers a daily newsletter that helps match authors and readers, resulting in thousands of book downloads every month. Unlike many book promotion sites, BookHippo.uk is free to use. We know that authors make very little money, and don't think it's fair when 'the middle man' earns almost as much, if not more than the author, for a fraction of the work.

At present, most BookHippo.uk sales come from paid advertising. This proves costly, which limits the impact of promotions. In order to get unpaid traffic, we need to increase our search engine rank.

There are two fantastic ways to improve rank:

1. links from other websites (thank you, folks)

2. featuring relevant, well-written content that's unique to BookHippo.uk

The goal for the BookHippo.uk forum is to increase the proportion of original content on the website as a whole. At present, most of our content duplicates info found on Amazon (e.g blurbs and author profiles).

We wholeheartedly support KUF and UKAKF and respect their ongoing contributions to the eBook community. If you do have a little time to spare whilst waiting for replies on the major forums, please pop by the BookHippo.uk forum and start or join a discussion thread.

Many thanks

Rosen

Why do we need (yet) another eBook forum? The answers simple. Because there are those who want an Amazon free forum.

There's http://www.nobooko.com/ereaderforum/, by the same guy who runs KUF. It's not very busy though.
